Another year have past… Sooo quickly… I can still remember when I was writing the same outfit calendar post last year. This year the calendars for my relatives were late, because we only sent the pictures to the printer on the 23rd. We chose the option to get them on the afternoon 24th but they forgot to mention that they were only open till 1 pm. But they’ll be hanging in our houses before New Year, I hope… I thought I’d make a calendar for the blog this year (or more for You), like I did last year. Every month you’ll find the outfit taken currently and for November, my Halloween makeup. This year every photo is much better, I can really see the development and I’m happy for that. Enjoy!

New York is often called ‘the City of Dreams’  or ‘The City That Never Sleeps’. New York is also the city of urban chic. In this big city you can find the high fashion houses next to the unique street style bloggers. So basically you have everything in NYC. That’s why I chose this beanie from the selection of MLB hats on Fanatics. I couldn’t choose by the team I like, because honestly, I don’t really watch baseball nor any sport events. Only the Olympics, but at Olympics-time you simply can’t avoid watching it. So I chose by the cities – and thus clearly New York was my choice. On this hat there are a few glitters, that show the bright and luxury part of NYC but the shape of the hat and the possiblility to wear it in many ways and styles reminds me of the street style pople of the city. This jacket is my other favorite, with the Marilyn Monroe portrait. To make it less sporty, I combined it with a high waisted leather skirt and a pink crop top.

Ez az ikonikus zokni Ronald bohócé, de már rengeteg blogger viselte. Nekem nagyon tetszik és hasznos is ha télen szoknyát viselünk a harisnya fölé, nagyon melegíti a lábat. Így, ma kicsit mikulásosnak tűnik, de végül is a Mikulás is adományoz ha úgy nézzük… Én idén rengeteg csokit kaptam, 2 tábla hatalmas oreos Milkát és sós csokit is, amit annyira imádok. A térdzokni mellé csupa feketét vettem fel hogy a lényeg legyen hangsúlyos. Meg azért a Photoshop is rásegített egy kicsikét.

 The Ronald McDonald House Charities started a campaign that if you donate you can wear these socks to raise awareness for the Charity and inspire more people to donate. I often place my change in teh small plastic boxes beside the cashiers at McD and last Christmas we gave books and toys to the kids living in the Budapest Ronald House.

The striped socks are really iconic – Ronald wears them, but many bloggers and people started to shoot outfits in them too. I really like them, knee-socks are very useful in winter time if you wear them on top of stocking they warm your legs not to mention mho cool they look . Today Santa came to us in the morning, he brought many chocolate bars, my favourites are the big oreo Milkas and the salty dark chocolate. I was thinking that actually we can say Santa is donating chocolate and sweets to children… After the photoshooting I wasn’t totally satisfied with the pics so I added a black and white tone to many of them, so the knee-socks became more dominant.

Time goes incredibly fast, I haven’t realized that it’s November already, and I forgot to write an ‘October Photo Diary’ post, because I was making others. This month was much more interesting than the previous one, so many things happened between the CEFD in th begining and Halloween night which was yesterday. And there was a school break too. I had many gymnastic competitions within the country and in Romania too. Our relatives visited us from Sweden so I showed them Budapest, we went to the Buda Castle, on Budapest Eye and we ate ‘langos’ in the Market Hall. This year Halloween was extra long for us, we had a sleepover for 2 nights. We made a lot of muffins and cookies, we decorated my room and created beautiful makeups. I’ll show them to you in the next post. We went ‘trick or treating’ for the first time this year and -what a surprise- we recieved many chocolate bars and sweets. We heared interesting comments too like an old lady to her husband ‘are these our grandchildren?’ or a girl said that she did’t have big stock of chocolate at the moment so she could ‘only’ give us one huge Milka bar. But we also get an Easter bunny, some fondant and other interesting stuff.

Halloween is my favorite celebration of the year. No, wait, my birthday. I can’t choose :)  On the 31st of October you don’t give and receieve presents but you can wear crazy costumes and extreme make-up. And I haven’t mentioned the creepy cupcakes yet. In every autumn break celebrate Halloween with my best friend, Lena, usually at her house. We always make some sweets, paint each other and turn someone’s room to a “haunted” one. Do you remember? Last year I wrote a post about this tradition (read it HERE). This year will be more special, we’ll be at our house and exactly on Halloween night! This also means that I have to make decoration (which I already did) and buy make-up stuff (checked too). For this I was looking for inspiration all around the internet, especially for the make-ups and these ones are my favorites. I’m sure we’ll try out many of them combined with our ides.

Ez volt az utolsó poszt a Centrel European Fashion Daysről, így is kicsit elhúzódott, de élveztem az írását, jó volt újra átböngészni a magazinokat meg mindent és visszaemlékezni a showkra.

 The backstage was really great, it was much warmer there and of course there were much more intesting things. We talked with Sophie Srej and she remembered us from last time. Since our last meeting she started college and received her driver’s license. We met Yvan Rodic, the famous street style photographer, we talked to the head hairdresser at Toni and Guy and many other people. Special thanks to Eszter :)) When we were not chatting we sat on the sofa looking the next show’s feed in the magazines and looking jealous at the models because they had fruit salad.

So this was the last post about the Central European Fashion Days, and I really enjoyed writing it, re-reading the magazines and choosing the photos.

For the finale of the Gomdold Ujra! three times as many people came in and everyone tried to find their seats. We had ours and everything was great until my mobile vibrated which meant that our pizza was delivered. We ordered it in the previous break and we thought it was perfect that it had arrived, we could go out for it before the show started. So we ran to the entrance and got our pizza. We went back but the cordons were closed so we couldn’t get in and we weren’t the only ones who stuck outside there were a big crowd and since we’re both not very tall (especially me) we went out and sat on the sofa and watched the happening from the TV. The experience was full this way too :))

Összesen 19 pályamű jutott be a döntőbe, ezek között voltak kiegészítő kategóriások is. A showt Mihalik Enikő nyitotta és zárta, a kettő között pedig a cseh, szlovák, lengyel és magyar tervezők mini kollekció voltak a kifutón. Én nem fogok mindenkiről írni most, csak néhányról, meg persze a nyertesekről.

There were 19 designers who got in the final , but there were a few in the accessories category. The beautiul Hungarian model, Eniko Mihalik started and ended the show and between her two appearances we saw Polish, Czech, Slovak and Hungarian young designers’ mini collections.

1. Antonina Zablotoska

Nekem nagyon tetszettek a cseh tervező ruhái, és nagyon cuki, hogy magyar ihletésű ruhákat, pontosabban a Parlament inspirálta darabokat tervezett. Mármint igen, ez a lényeg hogy a visegrádi országok valamelyikéből inspirálódj és egy csomó magyar tervező szedte az ötletet külföldről, de valahogy tetszik, hogy őt Magyarország inspirálta.

I really liked her work, and I think she was cute because she was inspired by the Parliament of Hungary. OK, I know the point was to get inspired by one of the Central European countries but I still like her because of this.

2. Varga Edina

Őt egy lengyel festő inspirálta a férfikollekciójához, ami, hát hogy is mondjam, lehet hogy én vagyok csak túl konzervatív, de nekem túl színes, de nincs olyan ember akin ezeket eltudnám képzelni. Oké, a modell srácoknak jól áll, de nekik mi nem áll jól? :))

She was inspired by a Polish painter when she designed this collection for men. Maybe the problem is with me, I’m too conservative but this is too much colors and prints on a woman even on a man. OK, it looks good on these model guys, but what wouldn’t? 

3. Vörös Gyöngyi

Őt a sziklák, hegyek inspirálták és ebből létre tudott hozni egy átlagosnak tekinthető kollekciót. Nem volt szerintem sem nagyon kiemelkedő, de nem is mondom rá azt, hogy na ez az amit soha nem vennék fel. Olyan fél óra múlva már nem is nagyon emlékszel rá de azért elmegy egy stílusos, városi nő ruhatárában.

The mountains and rocks were what inspired the designer to create this usual collection. I think there’s nothing ‘extra’ in it, I can’t find any personality either but I’m not saying I wouldn’t wear it. It’d fit in an urban, stylish middle-aged woman’s wardrobe.

4. Vecsei Zsófia

Ő kiegészítő kategóriában indult Marie Curie ihlette fejfedőivel. Engem mondjuk a fő darab jobban emlékeztet egy karfiolra mint atomokra, de lehet hogy nem jöttem még eléggé bele a fizikába. Viszont a sötétszürke gömbnyomatokkal díszített karikájú darab kifejezetten tetszett.

She played in the accessories category with her hats inspired by Marie Curie. I see more a cauliflower in the middle one than atoms, but maybe just because we only stared learning physics this year. But the dark grey one, with a big flange that has sphere prints in it is my favorite.

5. November (Szenteczki Boldizsár, Schütz Nikolett, Hársfalvi Réka)

Ők nyerték a magyar tervezőnek járó díjat. Ezek a tetőtől-talpig beöltözött modellek forradalmárokat akarnak ábrázolni, bár szerintem jobban hasonlítanak egy csapat nindzsára, mintsem Lengyelországot felszabadítani próbáló harcosokra. Bár nekem még mindig jobban bejön a csupa fekete, mint a 628 féle színű kollekció.

They are one of the winners. The judges really liked the freedom fighters of the Velvet Revolution in Poland, but to me these head to toe black clothes look more like ninjas. I still like these black ones than the 628 different colored ones.

6. Tóth Eszter, Tasnádi Katalin

Ők is kiegészítő kategóriában indultak, és nálam abszolút be is futottak. Szerintem nagyon egyedit alkottak, olyat amire jól lehet építeni, szóval ha én lennék a zsűri, nálam biztosan ők nyertek volna ebben.

These were the most interesting accessories on the whole show. They created something absolutely unique, something they can easily build their label on. In my competition they’d totally be the winners.

7. Szécsi Tamás, Balázs Viola

Ezek a reggeli konyhás sálak nyerték a legjobb kiegészítőknek járó fődíjat. A showjuk jól meg volt tervezve, hogy visszamentek és utána palástként maguk fölé emelték és végigvonultak még egyszer a kifutón. Igazából nekem tetszenek és itthon ahogy nézegetem a ‘pretty past’ magazinban a terveit, már látom is, hogy mi van rajtuk.

These breakfast scarves won the prize of the accessories category. Their show was really well planned, how they picked up the scarfes and walked around on the runway again. There on the TV I couldn’ actually see what the patterns were on the scarves, but now, as I’m scrolling the ‘pretty past’ magazine I can finally figure out what it shows.

8. Jani Zsuzsanna

Őt a prágai sörök ihletté. Nekem ebből a kollekcióból egyedül az az arany metálos szoknya tetszik, de az nagyon-nagyon. Nekem hiányzik belőle az a nagyon eredeti, saját stílusa a tervezőnek, ami megvan a többi kollekcióban.

She was inpired by the beers in Prague. From this collection I can’t really see the designer’s style, personality and in a competition I think that’s not really good. I’m missing that unique pattern or cut that every other collection has. But the golden metal skirt, aww, absolut favorite piece from the whole final.

9. Györök Borbála

Mi ezt a kollekciót egyszerűen imádtuk. Abszolút látszik benne, milyen irányba fog elmenni a tervező a későbbiekben. A szlovák származású Nobel-díjas egyetemi tanár, Lénár Fülöp ihlette amire én nagyon kíváncsi lennék hogyan.

We simply loved this collection. It absolutely shows, what direction the designer will continue her work. She was inspired by  Philipp Lenard, a university teacher who won a  Nobel-prize too. I’d be sooo curious how this Slovak man inspired her.

10. Bártfai Lilla

Ez volt a másik nagy kedvencem, nekem a Jégvarázs jutott róla eszembe :)) de egyébként ezek népi motívumok a ‘jövő technikájával’ ötvözve.

These headdresss reminded my of ‘Frozen’ the Disney movie :)) it was an interesting way how she combined the folklore patterns with ‘future technology’.

11. Domi Grzybek

Ő is hatalmas díjat nyert. Ez nagyon nem az én stílusom, elég messze áll tőlem, de a tervező egyéniségét abszolút átadják a ruhák.

This collection was the third winner. It stands really far from my style but it absolutely reflects the designer’s personality.

12. Noori Samea

Őt a prágai színes kaupik ihlették, amiknek elég jól sikerült átadni a hangulatát szerintem. Bár nekem ez is túl színes, én például a középső pulcsit királykék helyett biztos feketére terveztem volna és az ujja sem buggyos lenne továbbá csőfarmerrel hordanám de mást nem változtatnék.

She was inspired by the colorful doors of Prague and I think she gave the feeling of the city through the dresses. Another point that if it’d be my collection I’d make the main sweater black with simple long sleeves and I’d wear it with skinny jeans.

In the last outfit post beside the pictures there was an illustration made by me. I haven’t mentioned it because I thought it was worth a whole post. In the past weeks I painted my old and new outfits from pictures. This is why the title is -backwards- because until now I first designed but now I sketched the orginal outfits. I really like these because it reflects my personality and art style. Once I wrote about my favourite fashion illustrators (here) and I like them because their drawings are really characteristic and unique. I hope finally I’m starting to create my own style and techniques. The last sketch is of an outfit I haven’t shown you yet but it will be published in the next days I promise. I think from now on I’ll always draw a small sketch beside every outfit post.

In my ‘August Photo Diary’ post I mentioned you that I got a few jewelry pieces from Tenczerszofi. I totally love them, so I’m sure you’ll see them in the coming outfits. And this one is the first: it’s an old black phone ring, which is absolutely adorable. I combined it with a striped shirt, patterned jeans and my leather schoolbag. Many people asked why I was wearing a leather accessory if I was a vegetarian. This is actually a great question. Yeah, I still don’t eat meat but the main reason is not because I want to save the animals, OK this is a strong argument too, and I’m trying not to buy leather stuff but this backpack is still my favorite and I’ll never going to throw it out.
