New York is often called ‘the City of Dreams’  or ‘The City That Never Sleeps’. New York is also the city of urban chic. In this big city you can find the high fashion houses next to the unique street style bloggers. So basically you have everything in NYC. That’s why I chose this beanie from the selection of MLB hats on Fanatics. I couldn’t choose by the team I like, because honestly, I don’t really watch baseball nor any sport events. Only the Olympics, but at Olympics-time you simply can’t avoid watching it. So I chose by the cities – and thus clearly New York was my choice. On this hat there are a few glitters, that show the bright and luxury part of NYC but the shape of the hat and the possiblility to wear it in many ways and styles reminds me of the street style pople of the city. This jacket is my other favorite, with the Marilyn Monroe portrait. To make it less sporty, I combined it with a high waisted leather skirt and a pink crop top.

I love this dress soo much, but I sadly noticed that it’s getting shorter, and we only bought in September. I won a giveaway a long time ago where the winner got this cute balloon shaped necklace from Fércművek which has the quote “fly me to the moon…” on its back side. And the material of it is so good too, I could caress it all day.  It’s so hard to go photoshooting in the winter… a) because it gets dark early (and inside buildings it’s usually forbidden to take photos) b) it’s sooo cold. I am freezing all the time, so a winter photoshoot goes like this: I take off my coat quickly, then we take 3 pics, take my  coat on, watch the pics. And this goes until I’m satisfied with at least 6 photos. It would be so much easier if I had 40 coats, but I only have 1. So I have to clentch my teeth and survive the cold weather. And just keep smiling.

Yesterday I went to the cinema with my friends to watch the 3rd movie of the Huner Games Trilogy. I wasn’t a big fan till now, I haven’t even seen the first two movies, so it was not sure if we were going on Saturday but I finally managed to watch the previous ones so I could happily go and see the new one. I really like it, the story, the characters, the places and setting. I read many critics that the new, “The Mockingjay” part 1 is not as good as the first and second movies but I actually liked it more. The worst part (in Catching Fire) was when they killed Cinna, the great stylist of District 12. When he designed the wedding gown turning into a mockingjay costume I decided to concentrate on chemistry classes and learn how to make fake fire and cool stuff like that. But maybe it’s easier to be a professional Photoshopper.  I’d love to create outfits and be the costume designer of the next part, but sadly that will never happen. Anyway I drew outfits for Katniss with wings and it turned out as a Mockingjay on the Victoria’s Secret runway.

Even the names sound similar, not to mention the coats. Recently I’ve been looking for a perfect warm winter coat and when I went on Bershka’s online store my eyes immediately spotted this checked one. It looks like Nanushka’s famous burgundy tweed checked coat (which even Taylor Swift wore). It’s from the Hungarian designer’s 2014 a/w collection. In the fast fashion store, this coat costs ≈98 $ while the designer piece is ≈555 $.

Do you remember my post of  ‘Gombold ujra’? Lilla Bartfai’s collection was one of my favorites and since then I started to like it even more. I got an email, whether I was interested in writing a longer post about this collection and -of course- I said yes. And when I found out the collection was made by 3D designing a printing I got even more excited. With this technique every piece in this ‘digital couture’ collection can be adjusted to the bride’s dress and style. Garlic is the main motive of the collection which used to keep away bad and malicious intents in folk beliefs. Here it is used to express thoughts related to marriage – like connectedness, rebirth and continuity. I love the ‘before’ pics and sketches of the collection sometimes even more than the finished pieces, because it is always interesting to see the process and the stages of creation.

As I already mentioned this year Halloween was extra long for me. We decorated my room carefully and we didn’t have to worry about the cooking stuff too. We stuck a sheet on my wardrobe and cut bats on it from black paper. We did the same to the window and my bed. Some bookshelves became covered too, accidentally the one with my school books and notebooks so ‘sadly’ I couldn’t study this weekend. But I don’t think my teachers will accept this reason why I don’t have my homework. We also pushed Barbie heads and legs in the grid above my bed and hung old tapes on my lamp.
We made muffins -of course from powder- and biscuits. We didn’t have any problem with that but making the fondant was a mess. I found a recipe which said we should melt marshmallows and mix it with icing sugar. It didn’t work so we used the ugly fluid at the courage test and melted chocolate instead. We had a lot of fun painting each other, Lena even left her makeup on her face in the city. I found these clothes on Romwe’s site, they are totally awesome and creepy styled. An that backpack with bat wings, awww ♥.

I found a very interesting video about how fashion meets technology. More technology, less fashion actually. The idea is genius, but I’d work more on the design part. I like this jacket, because it’s not trying to be useful at all, but simply creative and unique. In the video a man is walking on the streets wearing a kind of a windbreaker and gloves. He touches cars, people, walls and the sleeves of the jacket turns to the color he touched. I can imagine this in a long skirt and the sensors are in the high heels so as you walk it changes to the color of the ground. If I’d be a high fashion house I’d definitely buy this idea. Last weekend was very eventful. On Saturday morning I had a rhythmic gymnastics competition (the most important of the year) and then with my best friend, Lena we hurried to the Central European Fashion Days to catch three Hungarian designers, Napsugar Von Bittera’s, Áeron’s and NUBU’s shows. Between two shows we spent our time in the backstage chatting with models and the event organizers or waiting for our ordered pizza at the entrance. About this whole event I’m planning to write two more posts, one with the backstage pics (those are the best) and one about the Gombold Újra! competition’s final.

1. NAPSUGAR VON BITTERA

Nekem valahogy olyan érzésem volt, hogy miután ő már mutatott be kollekciót Londonban és a többi nagy divatvárosban, mintha ezt a közép-európai bemutatót kicsit félvállról vette volna. Az ő lookbook képeit, kollekcióleírásait nem lehetett megtalálni a sajtónak szánt vászontáskában, pedig minden más magyar tervezőé ott volt. Ráadásul én a kollekciótól sem voltam úgy elájulva, mint az eddigiektől, mivel az eddig képviselt, elegáns, kifinomult városi nő képét, a ‘Fuck Yeah’ feliratú darabok szerintem közönségessé tették. A kiegészítői érdekesek voltak, tetszettek, úgy mint a laza, lukacsos luxusbőr darabok is. Én még elég sokat látok a lézervágott bőrben és a vele készített interjúból az jött le hogy a tervező is, úgyhogy szerintem kár volt behozni ezt a sportosabb, lazábbnak szánt elemet. Az angol erre azt mondaná, hogy túlságosan ‘trying too hard’.

 I had a feeling that after showing her collections in London and in other big fashion cities, this central european fashion show wasn’t so important for her and she took it a bit lightly and careless. I couldn’t find her lookbook photos and collection descriptions in the canvas bag for press like all other designers’. Also I was not as impressed by this new collection as I was by the former ones. I think that with writing ‘Fuck Yeah’ on her clothes she pulls down her label to an ordinary level, and I really don’t know why because her luxury leather jackets and dresses simbolize the stylish, sophisticated but cool urban woman. I think there’s much more innovation in this laser cut leather line, and from the interview I made with her, she looked like she sees and wants to continue this line too, so I can’t understand why she made this collection this sporty, loose-looking and extra ordinary. It’s just too much, trying too hard.

2. ÁERON

Áron Eszter a jövő nyarat abszolút földszínekben képzeli el, érdekes printekkel tarkítva. Az egyik elsők között felvonuló ruhán volt egy nagyon érdekes részlet, ami feltűnt, mégpedig az elől-hátul rengeteg értelmetlen díszzseb. Szerintem nagyon érdekes volt a csípő körül végighúzódó zsebsor, kicsit sajnáltam hogy ez nem köszönt vissza több darabon is. Viszont a ruhák lengesége, -az egyik fő fazon, egyébkén a laza nadrág volt- színvilága elrepített minket a Skandináv tájakhoz, a ruhákon keresztül látni lehetett a víz tisztaságát, a dzsungel zöldből pedig én a mocsárra asszociáltam míg a többi pasztell színből inkább a homokra, sziklákra. Minden nagyon laza volt, nem túltervezett, szolid smink, szélfútta haj, nekem ez tetszett benne a legjobban.

Eszter Áron absolutey imagines  next summer in earth-colors interspersed with  interesting prints. On one of the first models there was a dress which had many useless decoration pockets around the waist-part. I really liked this element of the collection so I was a bit disappointed when I didn’t see it on other pieces. But the other dresses, loose pants and shorts were supercool too, so they made up for it. They totally flew us to the Skandinavian mountains and seasides. We could see the water waveing on the dresses, from the jungle color, the forests and marshes, and from the pastel colors I associated to the sand and the rocks. Everything was loose, not too much, solid make-up, windblown hair. You could feel the wind sweeping on the catwalk by the dresses.

3. NUBU

A NUBU kollekciója volt a kedvencünk az összes közül, nagyon érdekesek voltak a nyírfa részletek a cipőkön, táskákon és a ruhákon is. Érdekes volt a természetes anyagok, mint a fa, len, bőr, selyem keveredése a vízlepergető anyagokkal. Tetszettek a semmibe tartó lazán megkötött kendők, amik a földet söpörték ezzel kicsit hippi stílust vive a modern városi nő szettjébe, ruhatárába. Különlegesek voltak az engem barlangrajzokra emlékeztető grafikák (bár lehet hogy csak túl sok törit tanultam mostanában)  és az elfolyt festékre emlékeztető printek. Laza, sportos, mégsem közönséges nyári lenge darabok voltak, amiket bármikor bárhová fel lehet venni ha az ízléses, egyedi nőt akarjuk megtestesíteni.

Nubu’s collection was our favorite from all, we especially liked the walnut wood details on the clothes, shoes and accessories. It was an interesting match how they combined the natural materials, like silk, wood, linen, leather with the waterproof fabric. I liked the loose cloths falling from your waist and sweaping up the ground. This made the urban woman’s outfit a bit hippi styled . The graphics reminded me of cave drawings, but maybe just because I wrote a test yesterday about the prehistory and the cavemen. All were loose, sporty but not ordinary summer pieces which you can wear for any event. They’ll see the stylish, unique woman in you.

I went for a walk with my doggie and when I saw this wall and I knew that we had to take a few pics here. I’m not into the theory that blogging is soo different than real life to wear outfits that you wouldn’t on the streets. So I haven’t gotten my clothes changed just took some photos in very casual t-shirt and jeans. BTW I won this tee on a Romwe giveaway from the Valentin’s day collection.

July has gone past sooo quickly and it’s very bad that it’s only one month left from summer. In July I was in a horse riding camp, at lake Balaton and we went to Croatia with the family this month too.
