I’ve got this big shoe book full of images. I found very intersting silhouettes in it, but I thought I would change the color or would add something to many of them. So I redesigned and drew a few of them. I tried to chose a piece from every category, so there are very iconic pieces, like Chanel oxfords, or fetish shoes and golden lotus ones too, which are only 7,62 cm long! OMG.

A Hong Kong artist, May Sum’s idea was to sculpture lipsticks into iconic women like Audrey Hepburn, Coco Chanel ro Lady Gaga. He makes them out of a £20 lippy and sells them for £420. Which I think is a bit too much given that after the first use you can’t even see who is on it. Or if I never use it then why would I spend £420 for one lippy? Maybe I could use it simply as a piece of decoration but I’m afraid it would melt down. It’s a really creative idea and realistic especially when you see the normal photo portrait of the iconic woman beside it.

Nagyon szép kis fekete-fehér filmeket találtam Coco Chanel életéről. Továbbá nemrég megkaptam a Henry Gidel által írt könyvet a legnagyobb divatkirálynőről. Sajnos még nem volt időm belekezdeni, meg éppen mást is olvasok de ha kiolvastam mindenképp írtok belőle valami értékelést. A filmek letisztultsága a sikere, a kudarca és az egész élete nagyon elbűvölő. Engem abszolút magával ragadott.

I found beautiful and glamourus little videos about Coco Chanel’s carreer, failure and her life. About how she created her brand, about the N°5 and everything that happened with her from the orphanage to her death. I am totally captivated. But! This was still not enough for me so I’ve got the book of Chanel written by Henry Gidel. I couldn’t start to read it yet but if I’ll finish it I’m sure I’ll write a short review of it.

I’ve read an interesting article today about the history of famous fashion brands’ logos. For example what comes to your mind looking at the Chanel logo? My idea was that the two C-s came from Coco Chanel’s name. Many people believe this is explanation, but some think the two C-s are two horseshoes as symbols of success and luck.

De például itt a Gucci jele is. Erről is azt gondolnám hogy Guccio Gucci a márka atyja kezdőbetűi. Ezt a logót egyik fia tervezte 1933-ban.  Ám ez nemcsak két G betű, hanem két kengyelt is akar mutatni arra utalva hogy annak idején a Gucci lovas kiegészítőket is gyártott.

Or here is another logo, the Gucci one. To me this also shows the initials of the founder Guccio Gucci. It was designed by Mr. Gucci’s son in 1933. And it means not only the initials, but two stirrups too. They refer to Gucci’s original business of selling horseriding accessories too.

I wanted to compare famous designers’ old creations with today’s street fashion style. It was important not to pick catwalk outfit but everyday ones. Then I paired them with photos taken in a similar situation.

• Coco Chanel 1928-ban. Chanel dzsörzé anyagból készült kosztümöt visel, ezt az anyagot ő vezette be 1916-17-ben. A kocsi megváltozott, de a szituáció maradt. Szerintem nagyon nagy a hasonlóság.
• Coco Chanel in 1928. She wears a jersey costume. Chanel brought this material in style in 1916-17. The car changed but the situation remained. I think they really look alike.

• Ezt a Dior ruhát egy bárba menő nő viseli 1947-ben. Itt a ruha szempontból nagyobb a változás, ugyanis a szoknya megrövidült, a kalap eltűnt és az elegáns kosztümöt bőrdzsekire a magassarkú topánkát pedig bakancsra cserélték.
• This woman is wearing a Dior outfit for walking to a bar in 1947. In the today picture we can see big changes like the skirt got much shorter, the hat disapeared, the elegant suit changed into a leather jacket and the high heels turned into boots.

• Givenchy kabát az 50-es évekből és egy tavalyi oversize modell. A kalap helyett egy szerintem nem túl szép napszemüveg jelent meg, az oszlopsor helyett pedig butikok. Mindez változik, ám a hatalmas kabát marad. 
• Givenchy coat from the 50s and an oversize coat from last year. The hat changed into sunglasses (I don’t think they are pretty) and the colums into shops. Everything is changing except the huge coat.
